Silvia Festuccia is qualified as Associate Professor in Cultures of the Ancient Near East, the Middle East and Africa. She teaches Archaeology and History of Art of the Ancient Near East at University of Naples "Suor Orsola Benincasa", obtained a Ph.D. in Architecture and Heritage from the University "Alfonso X El Sabio" of Madrid, a MA and a Specialisation degree in Near Eastern Archaeology at University of Rome "La Sapienza". 
She is the Director of the “Italian-Lebanese Multidisciplinary Archaeological Project in Maasser el-Shouf - Qalaat el-Hoson”, co-directed by Myriam Ziadé (Directorate General of Antiquities, Lebanon) co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. 
She participated in different archaeological missions, directing several excavation areas and surveys at Ebla, Tell Tuqan and Tell Denit (Syria), at Monastiraki (Crete), at Kharayeb and Jemjim (Lebanon), at Aouam (Morocco), at Shahr-i Sokhta (Iran). 
She collaborated in underwater archaeological projects, as responsible of the coastal and underwater survey in Italy and Lebanon. She is currently member of the projects: “Historical Atlas of the Archaeometallurgical Activity in Algeria. Geophysical and Archaeological Prospections” and of the “Archaeological survey in Meknes and Cherchel to reconstruct the Punic archeo-metallurgical contexts in Maghreb” (ISMA-CNR).  
Author of studies on the urbanization and metallurgy for the Pre-classical civilizations in the Ancient Near East, she has participated in international conferences and published several contributions related to archaeological excavations directed in the Near East and Italy.
